Download steam version of lords2. Extract IPXWrapper and place the 4. DLL files inside the lords of the realm 2 directory.
Launch directplay win32 or directplay-win64 based on your operating system. Start game and make sure both players have the same game speed under options.

From there I can launch the game and see the IPX connection but then I tried creating a game but I can't get past the faction select. Does the other person need to join before that goes through?

However, one of us hosted the game, and for the other player it just hung on the "waiting for host to start" screen on GameRanger, so that didn't work etiher. The IPX wrapper works but there are a few problems we've found: Some dialogue boxes immediately dismiss. It means you can't make alliances or split armies up because the options disappear after a millisecond We occasionally get connection errors, and it seems as though it's a repeatable bug.
It seems to restore a previous save automatically, but it's very disorientating when you've randomly gone back 4 or so turns and figuring out what you need to do For the second issue at least, we're trying to save the game at the beginning of a turn. My game is severly buged. The game saves crashes the game. Yes it means the autosave. So does it does that on the multiplayer platform to? That is rough I never checked but can you turn the Auto-Save feature off? Nope you can't turn it off sadly But I know little to nothing about that multiplayer platform. Unless it's dos ran.
